I share personal impressions after passing (almost) of all parts of the series. In the first part, I explain a little, at the command of which heel I came to this, how this action flowed and praises the first game from the series.
I don’t even remember when specifically the remarkable idea came to my mind to go through all the parts of this famous series in the format of the marathon, but I know for sure that I did not approach the implementation on time.
At the end of August 2019, right before the start of the new course, I sensed that the old trouble with which it was very difficult to fight was starting to attack – the inability to complete the passage. When you look at the desktop clogged with shortcuts with the realization that all these games are good and you all love them, but you cannot master yourself and bring the matter to the end, some fierce longing rolled over. In general, this is generally a more extensive topic worthy of its article, but this is what came to me on the desire to finally solve this very problem.
And the first thought in my head flashed the fact that you need to force yourself not so much by force as you motive to go further, set some goal, and the rest itself will do the magic of games-you will simply take you and will suck in a whirlpool. And in the context of the passage of any one game, it could all and not work, and therefore it was necessary to take some series. It sounds not entirely clear, but my brain at that moment drank that I had long wanted to try AC Unity and AC Syndicate, but because of the corny obsolete iron, I could not do this. In addition, I realized with horror that from beginning to end I went only the second part and Brotherhouse, and even then it was in the bearded times when they were just released.
Thought for thought, and voila – all this has developed a target to go through a series from beginning to end. And here in the yard September 14th, On the screen you can see the initial ubisoft screensaver, and the first long games in games in my life begins ..

Assassin’s Creed – an experiment that laid the foundation for the era
Perhaps, without exception, everyone knows that the legs of the first part grow from a completely different series of games – Prince of Persia. Each time improving the demonstration demo, they more and more lured potential players. Although, perhaps, running ahead, I want to say that this part flirts with the era and history is much less than others, but, like almost all other disadvantages of specifically the first assassin, they can be attributed to the experimentality of the whole idea. For example, let the cities differ among themselves with architecture and color scheme, but almost do not stand out with some kind of eminent places, but only banally covered with repeating houses with a couple of exceptions, although this is not striking.

It was necessary to move between the cities according to a separate empty location, on which, in addition to the gathering of collection flags and anxious from forever aggressive guards, there was nothing to do. Fortunately, you can use a horse that noticeably cuts time to the path. But irritants in the form of Saracens and Crusaders, this still did not cancel.
In the cities, women-flash women who surround only Altair, slowing down his movement, and some madmen, always pushing, if you just pass by-a lot of stealth, were spoiled because of them. They scattered these unfortunates in the cities so much that you involuntarily ask the question – why were they added at all? It does not bring any challenge, but only knocks out of the rut and diligently gets players from itself. It’s good that you have to go down to the ground not so often.
In most cases, you need to get to the goal using parkour, because you can climb almost everywhere. Ubisoft Montreal I decided to take the formula from the same “prince”, to finalize it a little, as well as provide the players with an open world, which refreshed the concept. They upset only small problems in the responsiveness of management and annoying bugs, but in general, even now, after 12 years, all these animations look decent.

The whole game needs to eavesdrop on conversations, eliminate officers, interrogate informants and so on. Crowds of civilians are called to help in this difficult matter, among whom Altair can be lost, as well as stray groups of monks, merging with which you can penetrate the places of hitherto inaccessible. The concept, on which the entire gameplay of the first part is built, at first surprises, but very quickly (somewhere by the third goal) begins to tire and depress with its monotony. After the preparatory procedures, the mission to eliminate the main goals occurs as best as possible.
In addition to the main goals in the game, you can search for the already mentioned large heap of hidden flags, eliminating 60 Templars (very dangerous opponents), as well as the discovery of the card in the way that will then migrate to almost all Ubisoft games and not only with the help of the notorious towers. You can also help the civilians from guard on the streets, but this is a very boring thing that is almost not rewarded.
A hidden blade is another iconic thing, without which it is difficult to imagine a series
Altair’s arsenal is diverse. Since one of the rules of the Assassins sounded like “hide in sight”, then and most importantly, their instrument was to match these words. A hidden blade that can be killed by an unsuspecting sacrifice instantly and also quickly leave the place of murder, went far beyond the game and became a truly cult thing. Making your way along the roofs and bumping on archers, you can use the throwing knives for murder at a distance, but in other situations they become almost useless.
If it comes to open battle, then everything is "in classics". You can use a light dagger, which is easier to counterattack in time, or a short sword, if you want to attack, and not defend yourself. In some cases (mainly during interrogation) it will be necessary to use your fists, but this happens rarely.
… and this enmity was eternal
Perhaps the most important problem of the first AC can rightfully be called the presentation of the plot. If you discard prologue and epilogue, then the lion’s share of time we are engaged in the usual Assassin routine, and nothing happens at all. In the modern way, Dzmond is now and then chased between the bed and animus, and through the mouth of one of the scientists – Warren Vidik – lazily reveal some details of the Laura of the game. In general, these segments here have almost no value and are more like some kind of binding element to sometimes give a player to take a break from immersion in the past. Fortunately, in future parts of the series, fragments from our time will become a full -fledged part of the plot.
Against this background, almost all goals for the murder of Altair are distinguished sharply well. Not only are they usually distinguished by eliminating, so after each murder, a dying confession of the victim is falling out on you. These conversations, well -set and well -registered, lasts several minutes, and for the most part affect Altair, and, more importantly, the player. How many times after these monologues, doubts woke up in my head about the values of two warring orders, and who are more right than others – not to count. By the gray-modality of the antagonists, not one of the subsequent parts came close to the first game from the series.
After so many years, a stingy number of set moments with good directing outside the framework of the same prologue and epilogue is striking and epilogue. Minus is certainly uncritical, but a little annoying.
But there is something for which the plot itself can be praised. The concept, where mysticism, history, conspiracyology and enmity of secret organizations are intertwined, even to this day cannot be called hackneyed, what can we say about 2007. Also, throughout the game, we really observe the personal growth of Altair, who, from a self-confident egoist-one-man, interprets the postulates of his fraternity in his own way, turns into a calm and doubt in his actions an Assassin who is repenting of his past actions.
The ending clearly hinted at the continuation and cleverly clung to the players to the hook of interest – “What happened next?"
Assassin’s Creed quickly became a hit and gained popularity around the world, collecting laudatory reviews from the profile press. Summarizing all of the above, you can highlight the main pros and cons of the game. The concept turned out to be fresh and interesting, which made it possible to introduce many interesting chips. A pleasant and uninterrupted setting intrigued players. Parkour, very popular then in various films and other media added points to the piggy bank. All this is seasoned with a good and beautiful battles, steep animation and good audiovisual. Neither the monotony of actions, nor the clumsy of individual aspects, nor even some problems with the narrative, because it was only an experiment that began in general as a spin-off of a completely different series, and only at the end of the development of which the staff of the employees increased to almost two hundreds was overthrown.
In order to then make it easier to summarize the general -customary results, I will set personal assessments of each part, and the first game in this race receives 8.5 points out of 10.
The experiment was more than successful, and he laid the foundation for a long series, which went beyond the video game. Yes, and to this day, despite some points, you can safely recommend the first part for the passage – it passes timely checking time.
